About Tanglebloom Cabin

A Vermont cabin for quiet connection and wildhearted rest.

Maybe you’re seeking space to breathe. A solo cabin rental to reflect and recalibrate. A glamping Vermont escape where you can be surrounded by trees, birdsong, and a sky full of stars. Or a couples getaway to finally slow down together.

Whatever brings you here, Tanglebloom Cabin was created for this very kind of pause—where simplicity, comfort, and nature meet.

A Place to Disconnect to Reconnect

Tanglebloom Cabin began as our own quiet corner of the world. In 2013, my partner and I built the cabin as a personal hideaway—a way to retreat after long, backbreaking days of building our small flower farm, Tanglebloom.

It’s tucked at the edge of the forest, just beyond the bustle of our working land, but it’s always felt like a world away. We'd light the fire, pour a drink, and let the trees take the weight off our shoulders.

That experience changed us. And eventually, we realized we could offer that same kind of reconnection to others.

From Off-Grid Adventure to Thoughtful Retreat

The seed for Tanglebloom Cabin was planted years before, when I (Melissa) booked a solo retreat to a tiny, off-grid cabin in New York’s Finger Lakes. I needed space. That trip gave me clarity, restoration, and inspiration. I left knowing: one day, I want to create a space like this for someone else.

When our son was born, we weren’t using our own cabin as often—and friends encouraged us to try renting it. I wanted to create something that felt both creatively fulfilling and financially sustainable. Something different from the high-stress wedding work I was doing as a florist at the time.

At first, we kept it simple: a futon, a cooler, a French press. Guests brought their own supplies and trekked to our house to use the bathroom or shower—true Vermont camping style.

But the knocks on our door told us what people really needed: A cast iron pan. Olive oil. A towel. A touch of warmth and welcome. So we listened. And slowly, lovingly, the cabin became what it is today:

A fully outfitted, off-grid glamping Vermont experience with all the comfort you crave—and none of the hassle.

The Best of Nature, Without Roughing It

At Tanglebloom Cabin, you’ll find:

  • A cozy (real!) bed with an organic mattress, and hot outdoor shower

  • A private fire pit, nearby trail access, and a wood-fired hot tub

  • Freshly ground organic coffee, teas, and a selection of pantry basics

  • A vase of seasonal flowers picked from our farm

  • And everything you need for the perfect self care retreat—whether you’re hiking nearby trails, journaling in the woods, swimming in the river, or doing absolutely nothing at all

This is intentional simplicity. Vermont camping, reimagined. The spirit of the backcountry, elevated.

You’re in Good Company

Since opening our doors, Tanglebloom Cabin has been named one of Airbnb’s Most Wish-Listed Cabins, appeared twice in Airbnb’s Top 10 Most Liked on Instagram, and been featured by Travel + Leisure, Buzzfeed, USA Today, and Forbes.
